Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) at Catholic Social Services

Catholic Social Services' Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program offers case management and assistance to veterans and their families in Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, helping them achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency.

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program at Catholic Social Services is dedicated to assisting veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Serving the Anchorage Municipality and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, SSVF provides comprehensive case management aimed at identifying and overcoming barriers to housing stability. Services include help with securing permanent housing, increasing self-sufficiency, and connecting clients to vital community resources. The program collaborates closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other local service providers to ensure veterans receive the support they need. To be eligible, individuals must be veterans or members of a veteran household, have a very low income (below 80% of the Area Median Income), and be currently homeless or facing imminent homelessness. Notably, those with dishonorable discharges are ineligible for SSVF but may receive assistance through other programs like Homeless Family Services.
